VOLUNTEERING
Volunteers Make Our Museum Thrive
Our Museum relies on the talents and dedication of volunteers to support daily operations, special events, governance, and community outreach. Their contributions are essential to everything we do.
Our volunteers bring decades of professional experience across a wide range of fields — including education, research, art, media, science, event planning, fundraising, communications and governance. Their time, skills, and passion play a vital role in advancing our mission, our conservation efforts, and ongoing operations.
Volunteer Thursdays: A Proud Tradition
For over 50 years, Volunteer Thursdays have been a beloved weekly tradition at the Museum. Each Thursday, our core volunteers come together to share their time and expertise. We strive to align each volunteer’s strengths and interests with engaging projects and provide training as needed to ensure a rewarding experience.
Whether you have a few hours to spare or are looking for a more regular way to get involved, your time can make a meaningful difference. If you’re interested in volunteering, please contact us — we’d be happy to hear from you.
We welcome volunteers in many areas:
collection documentation & care
exhibition development & installation
programming
hosting school & community groups
fund raising
communications & special events
outreach & public education projects
