September is Ukrainian Heritage Month 🇺🇦

Cultural understanding begins with learning. Today, the importance of preserving Ukrainian culture resonates more deeply than ever. Museums are living classrooms — preserving memory, inspiring empathy, and inviting everyone to engage with the story. At our Museum, each exhibition, program, and artifact opens a window into the lived experience of Ukrainians across centuries, showing how traditions endure and communities thrive.

This September, experience and support Ukrainian cultural heritage in Toronto:

• Visit us in person at 620 Spadina Avenue inside St. Volodymyr Institute. We will have special hours on Sunday September 7 for Ukrainian Heritage Day

• Support our mission to preserve and share Ukrainian heritage with a donation

• Meet us at the Toronto Ukrainian Festival in the SVI tent, September 12–14

• Join us for the opening of our new exhibition Kosiv Bazaar • A Living Archive of the Carpathians on Friday, September 5, and experience the spirit and artistry of this unique ethnographic region of Ukraine

Kosiv Bazaar • A Living Archive of the Carpathians is an exhibition drawn from the collection of Leonard Krawchuk, inspired by the unique phenomenon of the Hutsul bazaar in Kosiv. A place where – for centuries – craft, community, and the beauty of everyday life have intersected. The Kosiv Bazaar is more than just a market – it is living memory, cultural force, and a space of gathering.

We invite you to experience an exhibition where trade becomes culture, and the bazaar becomes a living metaphor for community.
