Volunteering

The Museum is totally volunteer managed and operated. Direction comes from the elected Board of Directors. The Museum operates in a collaborative and collegial model with Board members sharing decision-making and accountability.

The Museum welcomes volunteers interested in finding out more about Canada’s Ukrainian heritage and the workings of a museum. Volunteers can assist in many ways such as developing exhibits, hosting school and community groups, helping with collection documentation and care, participating in outreach and public education projects, to name a few.

The Board endeavors to match the interests and talents of volunteers with the range of tasks and responsibilities that are a part of ongoing museum operations and ensures training is provided for its volunteers.

In addition, the Museum has a volunteer workshop group that produces handcrafted items for sale in the Museum boutique. New members are always welcome to join in and contribute their talents and ideas and to learn new skills.
